Abstract
CD74 interacts with APP and suppresses the production of Abeta.
Molecular neurodegeneration, 2009; PubMed, Homo sapiens APP — Homo sapiens CD74
ABSTRACT: Alzheimer disease (AD) is characterized by senile plaques, which are mainly composed of beta amyloid (Abeta) peptides. Abeta is cleaved off from amyloid precursor protein (APP) with consecutive proteolytic processing by beta-secretase and gamma-secretase.
APP-CD74 axis mediates endothelial cell-macrophage communication to promote kidney injury and fibrosis.
Frontiers in pharmacology, 2024; PubMed, Homo sapiens APP — Homo sapiens CD74
ABSTRACT: Kidney injuries often carry a grim prognosis, marked by fibrosis development, renal function loss, and macrophage involvement. Despite extensive research on macrophage polarization and its effects on other cells, like fibroblasts, limited attention has been paid to the influence of non-immune cells on macrophages. This study aims to address this gap by shedding light on the intricate dynamics and diversity of macrophages during renal injury and repair.
